- Who can bid
- The 16 invited places to stay, each through its own link, and anyone else through the public page at hotelberger.com.
- How long
- 14 days, until Tuesday 17 November at 10:52 CET.
- Bidding
- Bidding starts at $77. Each new bid is at least $50 above the highest bid. The business with the highest bid cannot raise its own bid.
- Confirming
- You give your first name, surname and email. After you press Bid, we email a 6-digit code (like 123-456) to the email you entered; on an invited page it starts as the invited address, and you can change it, for example to a colleague’s. The bid counts only once you enter the code. A code works for 15 minutes.
- Public bidders
- On the public page you also give your business and, if you like, your town or country. The code goes to the email you entered, so every public bid comes from someone who reads that inbox.
- What others see
- Each bid shows the bidding business’s name and place (never the person’s name or email), so every bidder can see that each bid is real and binding. On the public page the business is the name the bidder entered, marked “public bidder”.
- Binding
- A confirmed bid is binding. No payment now: you pay only if you win.
- Winning
- When the auction ends, the highest confirmed bid wins. With equal bids, the earlier one wins.
- Paying
- The winner gets an invoice from ALBAvision LLC through Stripe, in US dollars, and pays it within 7 days. If the winner doesn’t pay, the next highest bid wins and gets the invoice.
- The name
- After you pay, you get the code to move the name to your account the same day (at your own domain provider); it takes a few minutes. If the move fails, you get your money back.
- No bids
- If nobody bids, the name goes to regular sale at $1,997.
